Agar Scientific is a United Kingdom supplier of consumables and accessories for electron microscopy. Its catalogue covers TEM and SEM grids, specimen supports, embedding resins, knives, coating targets, calibration standards and general sample preparation tools.

The company serves academic, industrial and clinical laboratories in materials science, life sciences and nanotechnology, and is a long-standing reference for researchers equipping standardised EM sample preparation workflows.

Annealsys Logo

Annealsys, founded in 2004 in Montpellier, France, manufactures Rapid Thermal Processing furnaces and Direct Liquid Injection deposition systems (DLI-CVD and DLI-ALD). Its RTP equipment operates up to 2,000 °C, including under high vacuum.

The systems are used for MEMS, sensors, optoelectronics, power devices, photovoltaics and research on 2D materials such as graphene, h-BN and TMDs. Annealsys is part of the ECM Group and reports over 900 systems installed worldwide.

EXpressLO Logo

EXpressLO LLC develops specimen preparation technology for focused ion beam and transmission electron microscopy workflows. Its core product is the patented EXpressLO™ grid, used for ex-situ lift-out of FIB-prepared specimens without cryo manipulation.

The method is applied to nanotechnology research, failure analysis and cryo-microscopy, including air- and temperature-sensitive materials. EXpressLO positions it as a fast, reproducible and cost-effective alternative to conventional in-situ lift-out.

Gatan Logo

Gatan, part of AMETEK, designs instruments and software for electron microscopy. Its portfolio covers specimen holders, sample preparation equipment, imaging and spectroscopy detectors, and analysis software for TEM/STEM and SEM platforms.

Gatan technologies support EELS, cryo-EM, 4D STEM, EBSD, EDS and cathodoluminescence, used in batteries, semiconductors, structural biology, materials science and geosciences. Its detectors and post-column filters are an established reference for quantitative electron microscopy.

Haskris Logo

Haskris, founded in 1944 and based in Elmhurst, Illinois, manufactures engineered water chillers for OEM and laboratory applications. Its units are designed for high reliability and often customised to integrator requirements rather than sold as generic cooling equipment.

Haskris chillers cool analytical X-ray systems, electron optics, lasers, semiconductor tools, induction heaters, medical instruments and materials analysis platforms, and are widely specified behind electron microscopes and other sensitive scientific instruments.

IDES Logo

IDES develops hardware connecting transmission electron microscopes to advanced detection and stimulation accessories. Its lines include Relativity™ electrostatic subframing at kHz framerates, Luminary™ Micro laser ports for optical stimulation, and Synchrony™ modules with 4D STEM and AI-guided acquisition.

The systems enable time-resolved and in-situ atomic-resolution imaging for nanomaterials, catalysis and photophysics. IDES was acquired by JEOL in 2020 and operates within its electron microscopy ecosystem.

JEOL Logo

JEOL is a Japanese manufacturer of scientific instruments whose North American operation, JEOL USA, is based in Peabody, Massachusetts. Its catalogue covers scanning and transmission electron microscopes, focused ion beam systems, electron probe microanalysers, NMR and mass spectrometers, and electron beam lithography.

JEOL instruments are used in semiconductors, batteries, life sciences, materials science, forensics, pharmaceuticals and failure analysis, and remain a central reference for high-end electron microscopy.

KUBTEC Logo

KUBTEC, based in Stratford, Connecticut, designs and manufactures cabinet X-ray imaging systems and X-ray irradiators for research and industrial use. Its range includes the XCELL 180 and XCELL 320 irradiators and imaging platforms paired with software such as DIGIMUS Multi for bone mineral density analysis.

KUBTEC systems are used in small-animal preclinical research, cell and tissue irradiation, agricultural seed analysis, forensics and non-destructive testing. All products are designed and manufactured in the United States.

NANOSENSORS Logo

NANOSENSORS, based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, manufactures probes and cantilevers for atomic force microscopy. Its catalogue covers contact, tapping and non-contact tips, tipless cantilevers for functionalisation, vacuum-compatible probes and membrane-type surface-stress sensors.

Applications include high-resolution imaging, magnetic and electrostatic force microscopy, nanoindentation and biological AFM. NANOSENSORS is a trademark of the NanoWorld group and has specialised in AFM probe manufacturing since 1990.

NanoWorld Logo

NanoWorld, headquartered in Switzerland, manufactures probes for atomic force microscopy through silicon microfabrication. Its product lines include the POINTPROBE® series, ARROW™ cantilevers, ultra-short cantilevers and specialised probes for electrical, magnetic and high-resolution imaging modes.

The probes address non-contact, tapping and contact AFM as well as EFM, KPFM, PFM, MFM and life-science applications. With its NANOSENSORS brand, NanoWorld is a core supplier of AFM consumables to research and industry.

Quorum Technologies Logo

Quorum Technologies, based in Laughton, East Sussex, specialises in sample preparation instruments for electron microscopy. Its portfolio includes cryo preparation systems, sputter and carbon coaters, critical point dryers, glow discharge units and the HPT-100 plasma cleaner range, along with accessories and consumables.

The equipment supports SEM and TEM workflows in materials science, life sciences and industrial laboratories. Quorum is a subsidiary of Judges Scientific plc with over four decades of activity in EM sample preparation.

RMC Boeckeler Logo

RMC Boeckeler designs sample preparation instruments for electron microscopy and histology. Its catalogue includes the PowerTome ultramicrotome series, the ATUMtome for array tomography, the ASH2 and LN Ultra cryo systems, the MR2, MR3 and MT990 microtomes, the EM Pro tissue processor and the GKM2 glass knife maker.

These instruments are used in materials science, cell biology and connectomics, with a particular focus on sample preparation for 3D electron microscopy. The RMC Boeckeler brand is operated by Boeckeler Instruments.

Spectral Instruments Imaging Logo

Spectral Instruments Imaging develops in vivo optical imaging systems for preclinical research. Its Lago, Lago X, Ami, Ami HT and Ami HTX platforms combine bioluminescence, fluorescence and X-ray imaging, with multi-modality coregistration and 3D reconstruction, driven by the Aura acquisition and analysis software.

The systems target high-throughput small-animal studies, including patented fluorescence excitation and simultaneous imaging of up to ten mice. Spectral Instruments Imaging is part of the Bruker preclinical imaging division.

Protochips Logo

Protochips, headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina, develops in-situ transmission electron microscopy solutions. Its range includes the Atmosphere AX gas cell, Poseidon AX liquid cell with mixing, Triton AX for liquid heating, cooling and electrochemistry, and Fusion AX for heating and biasing.

The AXON software manages TEM data acquisition, dose control and high-frame-rate imaging. Protochips systems are used in batteries, catalysis, corrosion, soft and biological materials, electronic devices and nanomaterial synthesis.

NeoScan, based in Belgium, designs micro-CT and nano-CT systems for non-destructive 3D imaging and quantitative analysis of internal structures. Its range includes the N60, N70, N80 and N90 benchtop scanners and the larger NeoScan XL, along with thermal and mechanical in-situ stages, automatic sample changers and dedicated analysis software.

The systems serve materials science, geology, life sciences and industrial R&D and quality control. NeoScan Americas represents the manufacturer across North, Central and South America.
